Has anyone done any modification that removes the inner lens only and not replace with projectors? More for the people with extremely bad yellow/melting I guess.

I am curious over the light output if its different or better or worse.

I plan on doing the projector retrofit soon regardless but wondering other ideas.

You can remove them and it looks much better than the lenses (even when they're good).
Light output and pattern seems identical. The main downside is that the only thing between your bulb and other drivers is the reflector, which is somewhat bright, but not terrible.
Not sure of the legality, but looks and performs great. ;)
