store your hardtop on the hoist ?

I recently purchased a hardtop and hoist. For those of you that have the same setup do you store the hardtop on the hoist when it is not on the car ? Any issues leaving it on the hoist for 6 to 8 months at a time ? I like the idea of leaving it in the air vs. Rolling storage which will gobble up floor space.

I'd also love to here from others. I currently store it on a rolling stand with a fitted cover (a real pain to put on) which eats up space and is at higher risk of damage.

Very interested to hear about this as well.
I do not have hoist, but my concern would be having pressure on the rubber seals for that long. I normally condition the rubber with Gummi Pfledge while it's on the rolling cart.

I've Been Storing Mine on the Hoist for About 10 Years

I scored my hard top in July 2006 and bought the hoist about two months late in September. It mounts in the ceiling with 4 long lag screws that are firmly anchored in 2"X 6" ceiling joists.

The hoist frame has three points that contact the top. One on top and two below. They are covered by lamb's wool pads, so even if I didn't have the hard top cover they would not scratch the paint. The design of the system keeps the mounts away from the seals so there is no pressure on them. The two arms that come up below are hinged and swing out of the way when I place the top on the car.

The top is on the hoist from April through November and I forget that it is there. I don't have to worry about accidents or have it take up floor space.

The hoist is called an EZ-Top and it was made Hard Top Hoist Inc. of Houston TX.

I store mine on a wheel cart. I installed a hoist system I didn't have the ceiling height to adequately get it off the car suspended from the ceiling.
