Cold and snowy here today so I decided to do some stuff to the car in the garage. I got a little too aggressive with the polishing ball on one wheel- the cuff of the drill actually made contact and gouged out a few places. Totally a knucklehead move on my part, but any ideas on how to approach a fix?

They make touch up paints that will look OK, but it's better to have that rim refinished. Here it's about $125 to have each prepped and painted. They look great.

I use Wheels America to refinish my wheels. They bead blast them then powder coat the wheels to the exact color. $125 a wheel. There are numerous other companies out there that do this. I factor another $20 in for force balancing. So, every time my wife or I mess up a wheel I bow my head and face the fact I am out $145. Luckily, its been awhile.

I bought the wurth German car rim repair kit. It came out really well. A little fillet and paint makes a huge difference. Unless your worried about the concours folks, affordable fix you can keep for future fixes.

Did you scrape the paint off down to the metal? I am wondering if a little rubbing compound might lighten it up a bit? Maybe a little wet sanding with 1000 grit paper? What do you have to loose?
