Porsche tax is 50%

I finally found out how much the Porsche tax is today. A few weeks ago I took 4 18 inch Porsche wheels with no center cap to get the tire removed from the rim and it was $20. Today I went to the same mom & pop tire store with 4 17inch wheels to get the tires taken off but this time left the beat up center caps on them. I go to pick the wheels up and they told me it was going to be $30 this time:confused: I quickly told the cashier (same one I had before) what I paid last time and she quickly changed it to $20.

The 1 percent of automobiles must cost more to maintain at any and all shops in order for geo metros to receive service at the bare minimum.

Totally agree. In 87 0r 88 I took my 944 turbo to a muffler shop to have the pads changed. It was cold and my garage was overcrowded with a 911 I had in pieces. The shop asked what car and even though I was supplying the pads he wanted $150 per axle. I called the same shop a week later and asked over the phone same question but said Volvo. price became $50 per axle.
The weather had warmed up so I did all in my driveway. Took about 45 minutes

Oh yes, when I took my leather seats to be reupholster I told the upholsterer that they were seats from a "little old car" and he did a great job for $500, after seeing they were in a porsche he daid he should have charged 1200.00

I hope you told him where to put it.

When I was hauling M96 engine parts around trying various cleaning methods I said they were VW parts which is arguably true.

A bit of a side story but still Porsche tax.
I have to replace the shingles on my home. I started to get estimates. Two of the most popular roofing companies here. First guy comes and my wife has the 986. Her little Fit is in the drive.Got the quote decent price around what I thought. Day later second comes to do his. 986 in the drive. $ 1400 more. Same damn shingles and a 1/2 a day more labor.

bad enough living in a decent neighborhood as far as home service calls but if they see the p-car that I keep basically hidden in a small garage it is all over.

Special prices are the norm if you have anything that's perceived as expensive even if it wasn't. I've had plenty of contracters get out of their $50k pickup truck and snearingly say it must be nice to own a Porsche.

When telling people how to get the plastic window fixed on their boxster. I always tell them to take the whole frame and everything off the car, take it to the upholster and tell them it's off a Miata.
