Battery dead. Just found out the hard way

I left my key in the boxster in the OFF position and my battery is NOW dead. I can't find that wire that is supposed to let me open the front trunk. I know about the Positive terminal in the fusebox but don't have a donor battery. I didn't realize just leaving the key in the vehicle would drain the battery. Looks like I'm buying a battery today.

That sucks. Make sure you find and relocate the emergency frunk release cable afterwards, for easy access next time

Purchased battery

Since I did not know how old the battery was I just opted to buy a new one. Hooked up the jumpers cables as described in the manual and POP!, opened the trunk. Now I'm going to find that cable and put it somewhere I can reach it.

If you remove the passenger side headlight assembly, you should see a piano-type wire with a loop on the end. Many people relocate it to the tow hook opening, although some choose not to as this is a well-known hiding place (but I think only amongst Box people).
