boxster needs seats

I have a 2000 986 2.7 base. I need to repair, replace, or cover my drivers seat. The left side it completely thrashed. The leather is gone and the foam has crumbled away. Currently I am lost in the maze of possible seat covers, repair or replace options. I can have the torn up part replaced with new leather; about $400. I can try to locate a replacement seat. I can get seat covers. (not my preferred option) . I fear other parts of the same seat (drivers) will soon need to be repaired. The passenger seat is showing some wear and will need attention soon. I need some advice.

Get a used seat from a dismantler or from Woody on this forum (itsnotanova). Anything in decent shape can be repaired or re-dyed (Leather Magic, Leatherique, etc)

GT4 carbon bucket seats would be my 1st choice, but not even sure if they would fit ;)

FVD Brombacher is selling those OEM seats... for 991/981... noticed that the price is for a single seat... gulp

Sent you a pm. I'm in California and have a pair of seats in excellent condition.

My car is Ocean Blue with light grey/black interior. Not sure how black seats would look. I know they get very hot with the top down. I'm willing to think about it though. How much are you asking? I live in Woodland, near Sacramento. I am going to Sonoma to watch some vintage racing this Saturday. Would that be a possibility for you?

Re-coloring is possible

Although I used this kit to bring my Savanna Beige seats back to original color, you can change the color completely. And it really isn't that much work, especially with the seats out.

Check this link out:

I saw an episode of Wheeler Dealers where they changed banana yellow seats in an old BMW Z-1 (the one with sliding doors) to black using something similar. It can be done. Just throwing it out there for you.
