Remove Locking Wheel Nut Without The Key
hello there!! A friend of mine has Porsche PAnamera MY 2012 and he has lost the wheelnut locker and I would like to ask you if there is a way to remove the Locking Wheel Nut Without The Key of . My only issue is not damage the rims. Thanks

Get the lugnut key from the Porsche dealer. They should have on record which key the car needs and if not the should have a full compliment of them on hand that they could try to figure out which is the correct key.

reverse thread drill bit.
drill it out, that's what I did. |
Most indy Pcar garages have a set also.
There's a code on the trunk sticker that tells which one you need. |
My impression is that those are not that much of a deterrent. With a different car, I was at the shop and had forgotten my lug key at home. I asked if that would be a problem, and they just chuckled. No.

Go to reputable tire shop and ask if can take the locking lug nuts off. They usually have a tool that cuts itself into the nut so that it can be unbolted. Nut gets destroyed in the process but you can just replace it with a regular one (buy in advance before destroying the locking one!). Real wheel thieves have the same tool so the locking nuts are only a pita.

I used a 23mm deep well socket to remove mine. Trashed the lugs, but wanted to replace them with non-locking lugs anyway

Just buy the locking lug removers, ~$45 new.
Will not damage rims and is as easy as removing a regular lug nut. Or buy my set for $25 + shipping. Used 4 times only (4 locking lugs removed) The lockers are absolutely no deterrent to a pro as they can be removed as fast as a regular lug nut with these lug removers. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-O...ug_remover.jpg The round pin is for knocking the lug nut out of the socket. I think they are 1/2" socket drive if I recall correctly. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/uHZljCwPmQQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Can you tell me what tool set that is. I bought one at O’Reilly’s Auto that had a 13/16 and 1 in reverse threaded sockets. Both were too small to capture the lug nut. Yours look like they might fit. No joy at Harbor Freight either. Help,

I got rid of my locking lug nuts. If you want to, contact Woody!

I have had good results with a regular 12 point socket wrench driven on with a hammer. I use it on the outer (smaller) part of the lug, not where the locking tabs are. Here's a post from a while back:

Luckily the parts dept only had one in stock and the mechanic gave me 3 used ones laying around for free! |
These locking lug nuts seems to only lock out the owners instead of the thieves. If a thief wants your wheels they will get it. They are better equipped to take them off than we are.

I did a search by username. Woody came out with 2 results but the user barely has a few post to his name. |
