Vacuum connection-Where does it go?

I am putting everything back together after replacing the starter and I can't find where one of the vacuum lines connects. I thought I labeled everything when I took it apart, but I guess I missed one. The top won't go down since one of the top transmissions is broken and I haven't gotten to replace it yet so it is difficult for me to see anything.

Looking from the driver's seat back into the engine, the attached photo is the front intake pipe that goes across the top of engine. It has three vacuum connections and the one that is sticking out to the right is the one I cannot find a connector for. Any help finding it would be greatly appreciated as I would finally get her back on the road after a month of messing with things.

Thanks! :cheers:http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1456084043.jpg

Maybe some help, that part on the resonator tube is (K) in the diagram:

Perfect. I found it. Thanks for the diagram. I couldn't find one in my Bentley manual.

Great diagram. Quick question though.

Other than the brake booster, is this the entire vacuum system?

Not quite, and it varies a little bit by year. My original source of that diagram was from posts Wayne made on the Pelican site for 996s.
In that diagram, I'm pretty sure that (I) is a line that goes to the Tiptronic transmission.

Probably the best complete source is the Porsche 986 Parts catalog (USA)

It is spread across a few different diagrams:
Illustration 107-00
Illustration 107-05
Illustration 107-10
Illustration 108-05
Illustration 108-06

That's my guess anyway.

Vacuum Lines

Spent several days looking for this vacuum where to hook up http://http://www.pelicanparts.com/c...10-950-02-M244

can't seem to find where to plug in.

fornowh03 02-22-2016 01:56 PM

I have the same problem, replace starter, now I have vacuum lines that are dangling, cant seem to find where they go, I look all the diagrams online but can't seem to find it where they are on the car.http://http://www.pelicanparts.com/c...10-950-02-M244

Where does the Air Valve goes? can't seem to find the Check Valve unit.

I'm pretty sure that the check valve is on the vacuum source line. It should connect to one of the rubber sleeves that connect the cross-tube.
Here's a post that might help:

See the valve and where it's connected?
It may not be the same position on yours, but it should go to one of those sleeves, where there is a hole the size of the tubing.

(H) to (L) in this diagram.

Vacuum Line

@jsceash- Love the link you have on the post below with the picture, my question is where does the other empty tube goes from the tank-four way line.

Manual transmissions have a 3-way, the 4-way is for tiptronic. The extra line goes to a valve on the transmission. If you look at the diagram for the Air Injection system in the Katalog, it lists part "21" Y piece, and part "(21)" Distributing piece fourfold with option 249 (tiptronic transmission).

Getting P0491 and P0492 Error codes

I can't seem to find the #2 Changeover valve for the intake, a line coming from the vacuum reservoir going into the Changeover valve. Found the first one on the driver side, can,t find the one on the passenger side.

It's at the base of the vacuum valve under the passenger side intake manifold. Item E in the part drawing. Mine is just behind the alternator, and beside the Bank 1 Knock sensor.
