986 Roof, catch and micro switch

Hi has anyone experienced a failure of the micro switch situated in the front catch of the softop. Is it an easy change if I change the whole thing rather than just the micro switch

The switch is a very easy replacement. I found that when mine was acting up, i added a shim between it and the windshield frame and got it working again.

Thanks, mine has stopped working altogether at the moment. I have tried pressing the micro switch repeatedly but nothing anymore. I have had a price of £45 for a complete second hand unit. I think I will go with that. As the alarm sensors are there, does anything need resetting or is it plug and play.

I replaced the micro-switch in my silver Boxster twice. Very common failure and very easy to replace - pure plug and play.

Hi, in looking for the switch I am getting asked, which one it is. Is there a way of checking without replacing the wrong one first.
