Automatic Transmission Removal
I'm about to attempt an engine drop and would very much prefer not to have to have it mated to the transmission when I do so. Is there any access plate or something similar that can help me get the torque converter unbolted?

Are you only wanting to remove the engine and not the trans? That sounds so much harder than dropping them down together to me.

I dropped the trans and the engine together. Why complicate things?

I was going by the pelican parts article. I think dropping them both can work, but it'll be harder to maneuver out of the car.

Nah, get the rear end up high and roll it out on a furniture trolley. Easier to disassemble them (if necessary) afterwards.
