Transmission noise (with video file)

My 2000 S has a noise coming from the transmission in idle - sounds like a rattle noise. It's random and doesn't happen all the time. When I push in the clutch it goes away. I put a wood stick on the rear of the transmission case and listen through it and it sure sounds like the transmission is the source. Here is a video where I also put the camera on the stick to adsorb the vibration noise. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

if it was my car, I would find a quiet road, bring the car up to speed, put it in neutral, turn off the engine, and see how it sounds at speed with the engine off.

Yes, I realize this can be considered risky driving, but the test could tell you if the noise is independent of the engine.

Does the sound change when you are moving and have the clutch in/out?

It sure sounds like a single cylinder or valve/lifter assembly knocking because of its frequency at idle.
