 Switch to brighten/dim dash lights?

I have a 99 Boxster base. Is there anyway to dim/increase the dash lights? most cars have a rotary switch to brighten/dim the dash lights but cannot find it on my 99.

It is the trip odometer reset or clock button-twist left or right to dim/brighten the dash while the parking or headlights are turned on? Am far away from my car right now but one of those should do the trick!

 OMG! Thanks!

No owner's manual ? Here's one for you. Page 118.

It's ok, Mike. We're all allowed one derp moment per year, though you did use yours kinda early. :p

A friend of mine bought a 2002 Boxster about 6 months before I bought my car. He drove it for about 3 months with the AC on all the time until he figured out that the button with the asterisk on it was really a snowflake and could be used to turn the AC on and off.
Drive an old 911 or 912 sometime if you want to see some arcane controls. This included a 5-speed shift pattern that put first gear in an unexpected location. I think Porsche may have been experimenting with an early anti-theft system. I don't think most driver's could turn on the heat in one - not that it made a difference. |

Let me use up my "derp"

Pretty common on German cars. Many don't know that German cars are required to have a single button that immediately provides full windscreen demisting, too. |

Feb 16 will be 3 years I have owned the car and didn't use the windshield wipers or the A/C till this past summer. Top goes down in spring and goes up in fall. Only other German cars I have ever owned were VW, Scirocco, Jetta's, Passat, and I still own an 89 Cabriolet triple white boutique edition.
