Looks like a nice trip. That SD is a lot different than your SD. You must have been freezing your  off!

I am originally from Buffalo  and I never want to live in a place again where an electric block heater is an obvious/required factory option.

I like the convenience of being able to visit the snow when the urge hits (Practically Never after 40 years in Canada) and being able to go home in a couple hours to balmy Socal weather when I've had enough white stuff (Usually after a couple hours at most). :p

Now should I drive the Boxster top down today, with the seat heaters on of course or top up just in case it dribbles a bit along the way....decisions, decisions :D

The only thing that could make this place better is that it be full of Texans and we turf out all the existing politicians and trade them for some people that are real. :)

Rexcramer...I hear you on those options, plus rubber undercoating. Been there, done that, just North across the lake in Toronto!

You must be f"ing joking!
The last thing we need in So Cal is more people from that fly-over state called Texas.
"real" people, good grief

Great pic's!

But South Dakota in January? No thanks. I don't go north of 37N until spring!

The "Real" is refering to only the politicians, they say one thing then do another.

Texans seem to be more pragmatic, straight forward and have more of the old school morals and beliefs, honor, manners etc.
Californians are too socialist, bleeding heart, flavor of the day folks.

That's just my impression after 15 years in CA after 40 years as a Canadian.

Don't mean to offend anyone, just an outsider opinion is all I can offer, and don't even get me started on "Freedom". Americans that have lived in Canada for a while will understand that the US version of freedom is not nearly as free as the great white north of the Border. Zipping lips now!

I have to agree with this - as a Brit living in California for 21 years. Also spend time in Austin, Texas. (but not so much in summer!)
