Powder coating wheels
I want to have my rims powder coated but have a problem. Have to take off all 4-wheels and drop them off. Then wait a week and put them back on. What is the best & easiest way to jack up and block the car while the work is being done? Any help is appreciated

If you have a harbor freight nearby you can get 2 pairs of 3 ton jack stands and a floor jack, and lift the car and put it on the stands. Walmart also sells jack stands and jack stands as well as most auto parts stores. I guess you could also round up 3 spare tire/wheel combos and put those on.
To jack the car there are several good threads here, and also this article: Jacking Up and Lifting the Porsche Boxster on Jack Stands - 986 / 987 (1997-08) - Pelican Parts Technical Article |
I borrowed another flood jack and did what steved0x recommended. Just go slow especially when lowering it on to the jack stands.

LOL! Yes, I wonder if I install a checkerboard floor, and floor to ceiling mirrors in my garage, it will be bigger? http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/a...psfonwptz2.jpg Hmmmm........maybe not. |
