I love my box but that car looks pretty good for the money. If I wasn't such a car snob I might consider one...

I have been driving Sky for a couple of weeks and the car is a blast, like a go kart. I had a Solstice as well. (part of a consulting job I do)
It's no Porsche for sure and has some annoying faults for but 24-28K it's a pretty fun roadster.
I look forward to checking out the redline with the 2.0 Turbo with over 250 Hp
(At least it has a freaking glass rear window unlike my 01 S)

Both those cars pale to your '86 911 Targa, Marc. Sets my heart aflutter everytime I see it.

$19,999 not including the car for a 400hp LS2 to ONLY run 12.8? WTF is that? All motor Honda Civic's run that for under 8g's and they are FWD!!!. Sorry thats pethetic and really slow. I can run 12.8 letting off at the 1/8th mile. As a matter of fact I did just that, I let off at the 1/8th (or so) and ran 13.1 @ 90 mph if you can imagine that.

That conversion is a total joke, almost an embarrasment. For that kind of money you had better run 11's on pump gas street tires. You can buy a Supra for less than a Saturn, and with 20k make 600whp (ish) and run 11's and your driving a SUPRA!!! not a stupid Saturn...

About a 9 on the tension scale. Good call though...the only thing good that Saturn made was the rocket....Wow, that was really funny. I crack myself up...I can be seen the boom boom room at Vegas all weekend and be sure to tip your waitress.

Actually, if I recall the write up on the LS2 conversion, the issue is that you could not launch it without breaking the tires loose.

I suspect they will resolve that issue. If so, I see the car as a nice experiment and not really all that expensive for the fun factor.

It seems to me, tires are becoming THE limiting factor on some cars.

That is true of the new Lingenfelter and Calloway zo6 mods.

Noo I have no plans on buying a car for 30k then dumping another 20k into it to run 12.8 lol. For me 12.8 is just really slow for a straight line car and to dump 20k to run that slow is just nuts.. You could have a Z06 for that money and mop the floor with that Pontiac all day long, leaf springs and all...

Wait till the 250hp 2.0L turbo model comes out. I'll bet it can be made to run 12.8 for under 3000 bux with a turbo upgrade, some injectors and a fuel computer and a front mount. The SRT-4 made 500whp on 117octane gas with FULL stock internals. It's the same motor, so the turbo version will mop the floor with that LS1 version pretty easily for way less money. That will be cool when thats done. All the performance companies that did the SRT-4 like AMS and Turbochargers.com will make crap lods of stuff and make them fly a lot better than an LS1 will for way less money.

http://www.agpturbo.com/product.php?productid=16200&cat=0&bestseller

Thats AGP's SRT-4 kit, wait till something like that shows up for the Turbo Solstice. 400whp with light weight from a small turbo package.. Thats gonna be cool.
