Shift Boot fit question

Does anyone know if the shift boot/knob from the 997/996 will fit on a 2.5 boxster. My knob is cut and want to upgrade in comfort. Any suggestions on nice fitting boots/knobs would be welcome.
Cheers

the shift knob/boot from a 996 will fit your 99 boxster and it easy to change. the 997 will not, different design.

keep in mind the 996 is a six speed. if you have a boxster S then youre good. if you have a 5 speed boxster then it will still fit, but the markings on the top of the knob will be for a 6speed.

i just noticed you said you have a 2.5 so its definately a 5 speed. i suggest you just try and find a boxster 5 speed shift knob/boot. see em all the time on ebay.
