What dash face Is this?

My dash face isn't like this, looks much different but since I'm doing a Dash installed tablet for navigation, Fm, music, media, and even obd2 data. But molding the non flat form is provided to be difficult, I saw this in a 911 and had to have it. Any ideas what specific platform this is?

Do those newer 986s have gloveboxes? I've seen the glove box on 996s and was thinking since my 01 doesnt have it, there would be an empty space behind the dash.

Mine is a 2003, below is a photo.

You can retrofit the dash off these onto yours so there must be a space behind your dash.

The aluminum cross beams are different on 03-04. You might be able to cut your 97-02 to fit. Where ever you get dash should have the beams too though. Replacing the key cylinder on the glove box is nearly impossible from what I've heard.

its actually a 996 as it does not have a convertible top switch and has an oil pressure gauge in the cluster

Yeah well switches can be removed and added. I knew it was 996 like i originally stated, I took the pic, just didn't know if it was a special year or package that came with it.

Does anyone have images of it taken apart? My whole unit is 3pc, the vent housing that screws to the dash and the 2 small trim pieces. I need to know all what to get to switch.

Are you changing to this because you like it better? There are a few members that have done this install with the 3 piece unit in our cars. Some with IPad minis. I used a Nexus 7.

For one thing, the ducting that inserts into the hvac system is different, as are the grilles.

I'd like to convert to the '03-'04 system as well as it's the only way you'll get double din plus cupholders.

Qualityporscheparts in ABQ has a bunch of the required components recently listed on eBay. http://stores.ebay.com/Quality-Porsche-Parts/_i.html?_nkw=49%2C637&submit=Search&_sid=853166208

I have a Galaxy Tab S 8.4. Used to have a nexus 7 running USB Rom in my Jeep. I want this dash panel because it's flat where the tablets Fifield Dash kit would have to be molded. The 3pc dash panel of the 01 is rounded so molding and sanding is a pita.
I'm positive I'll get it, but I'm changing things to use the Fifield Slidell Dash Kit so I'd rather it just work right.

97-02 986 on the left
03-04 in the middle
00 996 on the right. It's kind of like a mix of the two boxsters

Yah, I'm here in Abq, but QPP doesn't have the whole unit. They have the vent and the face... I'm ok with the vent not fitting the 01, I can mold that plastic easy to form fit.

Yah QPP has the one on the right and the middle... Well they have the face plate mated with the vents, but not the frame that screws to the car. Might just try the right one, it looks flat, easier to mold a flat panel to a flat panel than to a round panel. Call me Lazy.

I'll get some practice with a 7in Nexus 7 in a BMW 740il tomorrow.

The kit's work well, but I just went with some sanding, glue and Velcro. I used a special kernel, and some software, with a Y cable, so I could charge and use my USB drive for extra storage at the same time.
Started out with this.

Ended up with this.

See I got too much in a hurry and not enough money for the Fifield kit, so I tried an otterbox. But f that.

Here's my Dell Venue 8 Pro, lol I was photoshopping in the car.

I also had a 5.1 DAC and resoldered the volume knob into the panel.
