Factory Alarm (Horn)

Anyone know if its possible to disable the factory horn alarm, and just keep the remote lock/unlock function?

my boxster is intermittently sounding off for no reason .... can't trace whats causing it. thought it was the sun too hot, but it happens sometimes at nite.

Thanks ahead.

Having the same issue once in a while. My Durametric shows no faults in the alarm. Can't figure it out, anyone have any insight?

Have you checked the airbag frame?
The rubber bushings rot and cause intermittent failure. I fixed mine with dense foam rubber, but you can also buy a new one.

Yeah there's a way. The alarm horn is in a separate location and I can only assume that if you find it and unplug it it will no longer operate. You're sure it's the alarm horn and not the car horn?

Having same issue and thought of removing wires to alarm horn but the lights will still be flashing. Can not figure out what is causing this to happen.

I did this for the same reason. Unplug the alarm wire connected to the horn. Took two seconds. Alarm still flashes when activated.

Alarm horn is in the battery compartment. Open it up and you can't miss it.
