Tram-lining
 

In the last week or so I've noticed some pretty severe tramlining ( wheels following or weaving over ruts in the pavement) when driving on the streets and some highways around montreal. The roads here do get pretty wonky with the cold weather upon us, as well as I have mismatched tires (Contis on the front and Sumitomos on the rear). This setup caused me no problem on the track or on smooth (level) pavement. I have another pair of Sumis on order to match up the set but I was just wondering if others have noticed this. I really have only noticed this quite recently. :eek:

It's your transmission. If you drove a stick, that wouldn't happen......

Could be tires, alignment, or a combination of both. How worn are your tires? When worn, tires will tramline a lot more than newer tires.

I'm guessing Timco was not being serious...

If your talking about highway 10 heading in to town it's because your driving in the deep depressions. All cars tramline between St Jean and the exit for the 30 if you don't ride the high area or stay in the passing lane. If not, mismatched tires made mine sketchy when I got it and a new set of Michelins and an alignment cured it.
