Best crank shaft pulley - any advice??
 

Hi All,

I am going to replace the OEM crankshaft pulley with a new smaller option, any advice on the best one to go for? Thanks.

I installed one from BBI a few years ago (very nice anodized finish), the downside is that this one does not have the hole to insert the tool to lock the crank at TDC.

Before you buy yours, you may want to ask if it has the hole for TDC...

Suggest you ask here which brands of under-drive pulley do not disintegrate. Some suffered catastrophic failure.
The TDC hole is useful for cam timing but it is not really intended for use when tightening the C/S bolt. Suggest you ask advice on this issue before trying to loosen the C/S bolt.It may be very tight +/- Loctite.

I don't think any of the smaller UDP have the hole for the TDC; the edge of the pulley is right over that and that's why you have to cut down that boss. I used the RSS because it had holes and a tool for counterholding while torqueing it up. When I took the old one off I used a bolt through the hole to take it off. Some say put the car in high gear and set the parking brake to get the hold.
