Driver's window will not go up

Today on my '01 when I closed the door, the driver's side window dropped to the position for opening the top. It would not go back up, but went all the way down.
*Passenger side window functions normally in all modes.
*I can hear a click within the door when I try to raise it and lower it, but no movement.

I have:
Opened and closed the top.
Disconnected the battery for a few minutes.
Checked the door wire harness connection at the A-pillar.

Next:
I'm about to look through the manuals for troubleshooting, but don't expect this is directly covered. I'm probably going to trace the wires/path that cause the window to drop when the top is unlatched and see how it could effect only one side.

Any suggestions or past experience appreciated.

I have it working now. I'll see if the problem comes back (hopefully not in the rain). I removed the door panel and everything looked okay. Next I tapped on the window motor with a rubber mallet, while trying the switch. It worked. First it moved about 4", then after closing the door and lowering it fully, everything worked as it should. I guess that it is an internal contact or relay within the motor unit.
The manual was of little use, other than removal and installation info.

It must have been internal unit or motor problem which keeps on causing the problem for your door.

I ran into a similar issue before. Play with the microswitch up top when raising and lowering the windows.

Never mind, I missed the "I hear a click" part
