Look under drivers seat. Any sign of moisture? Likely immobilizer got wet. There are drain plugs under the top storage area and under the frunk hood back by the battery. They get clogged easily and water gets in.

X2
I'd even take the immobilizer apart to see inside it. I've seen a few boxsters that had wet immobilizers and there was no obvious signs of moisture on the outside.

If your immobilizer is not wet, remember that a failing ignition switch does weird crap as well....
