AOS finally surrendered

After 115,000 miles my air oil separator failed. I didn't get to enjoy the smoke screen most provide but it did start to squeel really bad. I took it to the shop thinking it was a belt, pulley or pump, but mechanic says it was AOS, he also said my throttle body was really coked up like tony Montana

Tell us more about the squeak? Why would it squeak? there are moving parts in there??

That's the same question I had. he hasn't answered my email about that yet. Can anyone enlighten?

Something to do with the sound of the increased vacuum and blow by

The diaphragm inside begins to tear and must make a squeaking/squealing noise from the vacuum leaking thru the 2 pieces. Kinda like pinching the end of a ballon when the air is coming out.

I just replaced mine because it was puffing a blue cloud at startup, it only took 1 hour.

Exactly. There was a pretty good size tear in the diaphragm in the original one that came out of the car. I paid 121.00 for a new part and labor was free. My mechanic used my wheel spacers to send to his cnc buddy to make copies for his car.
