Tan oil?
I went out this morning to give Rocky an oil change and this is what came out of the engine:http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1444135641.jpg
The water pump has been making some noise but I haven't driven it lately. |
Any foam or sludge in the coolant reservoir box?
Looks mixed with coolant. Oil cooler is first suspect. |
A little sludge in the coolant reservoir. Hoping it's the oil cooler and not that the impeller from the waterpump ate my block. Waterpump is (was) this weekends project... I had to walk away from it for a bit and calm down.
|
Ok now that I've calmed down some and lowered my blood pressure its time to come up with a game plan.
I'm going to pull the water pump because its making some noise. Squeals really bad until the engine warms up and then quiets down but I do have a small leak from the bearing. Remove and test the oil cooler. How do I test the oil cooler? What else should I be testing/checking? Note that the coolant is in the oil and there appears to be very little oil in the coolant. |
In addition to finding out where the intermix is happening, you will need to do a full flush and fill of the coolant and probably the oil as well after you have it fixed
|
Don't run it anymore! Your crank hates water in the bearings.....

Well that escalated quickly

Yeah, cracked head is likely. Pull your plugs, the clean, wet one is the bad actor. Pull that head and have it welded. Reinstall it an the drama ends. :)
