Can you bump/push start a flat 6?

Just wondering - if needed can you bump (push) start a Boxster or any flat 6.
It seems to me that it would not be good for the timing chains.
Anyone ever tried it?

Yes you can. As long as it's a stick and not a Tip. No issues with the engine doing this,

What's the best gear to do it in? My 914 likes 2nd gear.

2nd or 3rd gear are probably the best but you have to have enough juice in the battery to run the engine managdmdnt system. Not lke the good old days where yoh could bump start a totally dead car.

Garage
Learned this the hard way when I was in the market for the first boxster.

For some reason it seemed that my parents wernt a fan of the boxster that we had to push start.
