A garage could be a good place to store your car. It will not only protect your car from dust but keep the temperature inside controlled as well. If you don’t have a garage then I think it’s better if you put it inside a public storage facility. I stored my car once in ultrastor self storage http://ultrastor.ca/ for three months when I went abroad. Or if you have to leave the car outside then you should buy a weatherproof car cover. This will keep the car clean and dry. Water stains or bird droppings can damage the paint so before you keep it away for storing just give it a nice wash and make sure that you properly evacuate the water from the crevices. If you are planning to store your car for more than a month then I would suggest getting your oil changed because a used engine oil has contaminants that could damage the engine. Keep your battery charged. Get the car restarted every two weeks and drive it for about 15-20 minutes. Driving the car periodically can keep the batteries charged and keep the engine and the other components properly lubricated. Prevent flat spots by driving the car for a while this will bring the tires up to their normal operating temperature.
