Stuck cup holder

Driver side cup holder is stuck shut. Any tricks to free it up without causing too much damage?

Most of these have dried soda or sugar in them...mine were dragging. I took the dual holder out and soaked it in faucet hot water...not boiling...did this about three times in one afternoon and now it is fine.

Nope

pop the front off with your fingers and two screws and it slides out ( as I remember)

I took a pail of hot water (again tap hot water not boiling) and soaked it for 30 minutes or until the water got cool and then refilled the bucket and dipped it a few times to remove all the old crud and let it air dry and good as new.
