Engine making rough noise like bearings, bushings or belt?

I have a 2000 Boxster with the 2.7L and it sounds like there is noise at idle which sounds a lot like bearings.
The car has 40,000 miles on it, has been maintained well and is always in the garage with a trickle charger on it.
I recorded the sound from the driver's side rear tire area so if I can figure out how to attach the sound file to this post hopefully someone will be able to steer me in the right direction.

Step 1. Remove the access cover behind the seats and remove the belt then start it. Often it's your water pump or alternator or a pulley roller making that chattering noise. Only run the car for a minute or two. You'll know fast if it's still doing it. If it still makes that noise, shut it off!

And Timco knocks it out of the park. If the noise goes away spin the accessory pulleys by hand to determine which is making the noise.

Agreed, I've done this on my older cars in the past when I got such a noise (admittedly much easier to access than the Boxster) and it usually turned out to be dry bearings in either the alternator or water pump.
Although it could be something more sinister... So I'd avoid running the car until you can check it out and be sure.

+1 belt removal for diagnosis
Keep in mind that the AC compressor and altinator pullies are cluched
You mention at idle
How about higher rpms
