New window regulator but glass still hits convertible frame.

So I installed a new window regulator because my window glass kept hitting the convertible frame. Now it does it 50% of the time. Sometimes it will work perfect and sometimes I have to hold the handle open and let it go just as it touches the rubber seal. If I let go of the handle the window just goes all the way up. Any suggestions???

Can Anyone help me with this issue?

That's most likely a faulty door lock/latch mechanism microswitch.
The door handle microswitch tells the car that you are opening the door, so it rolls the window down slightly. The door lock mechanism tells the car that the door is closed and to roll the window back up. I believe you have to replace the whole lock mechanism.

Check with Woody (member itsnotanova). I bet he could set you up with a good used one fairly cheap

I'm having a busy Boxster weekend and took care of a few items on my old-neglected Black '99 (AKA "Dirty").

Here are some pictures to help illustrate the procedure that particlewave mentioned.
Between these pics and the Pelican Parts Tech Articles, it should be almost easy.

Putting it back together: I recommend latch first, then lock lever, then handle.
