Ordered Wood Dash Kit on Ebay.....Don't!

Ok; just thought I would share my experience. Decided to order a wood Dash kit off of ebay for my 02 Boxster S, Free Delivery $111. Not looking to use the whole kit but add some wood highlights in key places. The kit arrived this past Tuesday, and after work went out in the garage to start installation. Cleaned the places with alcohol and pulled off the first piece and held it in place before peeling adhesive.....it was 1/2 inch to short. Pulled off the 2nd piece(center console) about 1/4 inch to long, lock hole was completely out of alignment. Pulled off side mirror piece....about 3/8 inch to small all the way around.....

Put them all back on the board slid back into box and shipped them back today. This was a company out of Brooklyn, NY

Let me know if anyone has a better recommendation for some wood trim.

Wood in a Boxster? Sure, why not. Plastic can be a bit overwhelming, sometimes. :D

As wood trim can be very tricky...my goal was to get "new" not "used" parts and get the rest done by a classic car restaurateur / wood specialist. Not cheap, but really not THAT expensive
So my wood trim is basically "brand new oem wood" and will age nicely all together, no fear of cracks, chips, etc...

Motto: Invest once (a bit more) , not twice.

I bought and installed a wood kit in my '99 Boxster and it is an enhancement and not a replacement for the really expensive real wood parts from Porsche. I started out with the OEM parts and found that sun and heat cracked and separated the very thin and cheap veneer from the plastic part. They're ok if you have a hardtop and don't leave your car in the sun for very long periods of time.
I do not like the cheap look of the plastic in Boxsters so a little enhancement looks good and if I get tired of it it can be removed with a hair dryer. Much less expensive than replacing the OEM stuff when it goes south.
