As my water pump started leaking over the weekend and I need to replace it, I searched for a good deal.

I paid $370 for it all and figured I saved around $60-$150 over other suppliers

Man that is a great price!!! I bought the LN low temp insert and still paid $460 for the same items. Now in 10 years I know where to look. :cool:

I wish there were more choices here in Canada. I do a lot of my planned maintenance and parts shopping online and have items shipped to me when on a 2 or 3 day long trip to the U.S.
A lot of Vendors offer free shipping in the CONUS, and being a tightwad, um, frugal, I try to take advantage of that when I can.
I got a case of DT40 for $132 shipped from Summit Racing. Can't wait to do the fall oil change now.:D

There are a couple places for European parts that I look at when buying parts beside Pelican, which are FCP Euro and ECS Tuning. They don't offer everything you'll ever need for your Porsche, but have great prices on many parts. The no tax shipped to CA really helps me. I've personally bought from both, and generally happy with their service and prices.

There is some controversy about which type of pump will last longer/cause less collateral damage.
The Pelican site is a great resource for such "ify' choices because they give so much info and have diy guides for this job.If there is a problem ,I have found them to be beyond saintly in helping out.
So the big question is:Did you choose metal or plastic(impeller)?

Simple answer
Composite impeller. If the bearing fails and the impeller gets wobbly, it can machine the block causing many problems. There are lots of posts on this topic

I got the Pierburg WP which is the same as the Porsche OE WP and even has the Porsche part number stamped in it. Same item, lower cost. No Porsche tax

I did a lot of searching and Warehouse 33 was not only the best $$, the service is the best I have found
