$#%@#!@!! Car Mats
Without buying new mats has anybody come up with a way to secure the drivers mat and keep it from riding forward. I have nice new carpeted mats but can't think of a good solution! Any help is appreciated.

My mats came with a plastic gizmo that hooks to the carpet like Velcro and holds the mat in place...
If you can't find these on amazon.com you may want to try a roll of that area rug pad stuff with removable stickiness on one side and grippy rubber surface on the other side. You could affix a strip or two of it to the bottom of your new floor mat and see if it keeps it in place. |
Velcro. If you have a needle and thread, stitch 2 or 3 of the hook side Velcro strips to the underside. It grabs the floor carpet very well. ;)

Mine was doing the same thing, the Velcro disks that screw in to the floor had worn out. I got a new set from Suncoast for around $25, 2 per side for a total of 4. I don't recall the part number. If they still have any of the clearance 987 mats at Suncoast, those come with a new set of the Velcro disk and are actually cheaper than buying the disks by themselves.
http://www.****************************************************.com/product/98704480000R10.html The mats don't fit the 986 but it is a super cheap way to get 4 of the disks and you can use the mats around the house for something :) |

My wife gave me a set for my birthday 2 years ago, they have a quick buckle that attaches to the seat posts...impossible for them to move forward...and quick to take out and clean...forget the old velcro round attachment process
