Pay dirt in the toy department

I picked up my favorites, then put them high on a shelf. A few days later my grandson came over and I realized that I could not keep them for myself.

Too cool! I have 5 or 6 NA Miata models I bought on clearance years ago. I have no idea what I'm doing with them.

I just bought the new Porsche Lego sets

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one around here who collects toy cars. Most of mine are from the 70/80's when I was a kid. My mom had stored a box of them in her attic. I was up there one day and saw them sitting there. I grabbed them and now they sit on a shelf at my shop. Now anytime my wife or I see anything Porsche related at an antique or thrift store, we grab it for the shop.

Cool! I collected the entire set, although it took a few weeks to fnd the elusive ones.
A good addition to my Matchbox and Pocket Cars Porsches I've had since the '70s. :) (anyone else remember Tomica Pocket Cars? I liked them as a kid because they were more realistic looking than the other brands) Either way the Hot Wheels Porsche Series was a pleasant surprise. |
I remember my very first Porsche. I still have it (and one day I hope to have a similar life size 911SC or 964). I was always partial to the Martini colors, this car is probably why.
The 911 is a Hot Wheels, but I was always partial to MatchBox. I remember when they came in actual boxes (I think that stopped in the 80s?). http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1438806396.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1438806415.jpg |
I got this for my birthday in 2nd grade or something.
I think I was more excited than when I picked up the BoxsterS. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/getuserima...08182613_2.jpg |
