The Boxster Factory Rim Gallery

Well I made a thread a while back showcasing many of the different boxster colors, why not another one for factory Porsche rims, 986, 987, anything.

BigJake, I don't know if you know or care but, for the record we are currently compiling, I don't think your wheels were available in 2000 MY.

They were - I have them too. My dad was the original owner, I was there to pick this car up. 2000 base, he spec'd it.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1438636912.jpg

Here's my favorite early 986 wheel. I have 3 sets. 1 original, one Guards Red and one in the wheel shop being painted Gulf Orange. Not an easy wheel to find.

Those look exotic! What are they called? I have never seen them before.

Well maybe they were, I never saw any in 2000 when I 1st wanted a Boxster so I thought people were just retrofitting 993 wheels. :o

They are called Dyno wheels. They were an optional wheel for the Boxster for '98, '99 and maybe '00. 17x7 and 8.5.

If anyone has any for sale, 1 wheel or a set, let me know.

rick3000 08-03-2015 05:36 PM

I'm sure I have seen them before, but never noticed how different those Dyno rims are. Very slick, and much more interesting than the stock turbo twists.

18" Sport Design wheels. Yeah, this is on a 996, but they were also an option on the Boxster. For both cars the fronts are the same, 18x7.5 et 50. On the 996 the rears are 18x10 et 65. For Boxsters, 18x9 et 47 or something. Trivia: these were the original GT3 wheels.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1438680992.jpg
