San Diego Area Mechanics

Does anyone know of a good reasonably priced Porsche Mechanic in San Diego? It look like I need a new clucth and my RMS appears to be leaking. Might as well replace the IMS bearing while I'm at it. I'm the 3rd owner, PO didn't know if the IMS bearing had been replaced. I'm pretty good with tools, but don't have the space or time to tackle this. I'm sure a dealer would be $3-4K to do all of this. I don't have that kind of $$$ to put into it, Hell I bought it for $3k 5 months ago.

There are a bunch of of good Porsche indys in San Diego
Mirage Intl off Miramar rd
Black Forest Kearny Mesa area
and others

There is also a place in Oceanside that rents lifts and tools. They can also provide a mechanic to do the work
YMMV

Dieters downtown....Dennis Sherman in La Mesa to name two.

Mirage and Black Forest are hard to beat for quality and quick turnaround. Mulligan Racing in Vista tends to be a bit slower turnaround and usually less $$. All are competent shops that will do it right.

I note Dieter's is the only shop down here "certified" to do the new LN dual row IMS retrofit for single row bearings (late 2001-2004ish). From LN's website.

I am in the Chula Vista area, but work in Kearny Mesa and Downtown

Ouch!!!

I did some calling around if half of what they think is wrong by my description, I'll be putting more $$$ in repairs than what I bought it for. Worst case scenario $7000, best case $3200.00. I better bone up on my DIY to save major $$$.:barf:
