Squeaky windows?

anyone have a solution for squeaky windows? I'm getting it on both sides.

I read a fix on Boxa.net. Insert a straw on wd40 spray can and spray down past window rubbers into mechanism inside door. The post has more detailed info. Have a look there in the how to section.

Not sure if I'd put a petroleum product on rubber. How about some silicone spray? Windows on my daughter's Beetle squeaked horribly. This seemed to help a little.

I have had tremendous luck with using RainX on the outside AND inside of the glass.

Clean your glass very well prior. The outside needs a repeat after a couple of months.

My rubber seals don't drag and squeak and my 15 year old window motors are stressed less.

So it's just the weather stripping that squeaking? I thought it was something actuator related.

The Boxa.net fix states using a straw on the spray can to go past the rubbers and then past another seal underneath them. The wd40 does not go on the rubbers but past them and onto the internal mechanism. That is if you still get squeaking after cleaning the windows and lubricating the rubbers with silicon spray and anything else you can think of.

You could also try some of the seal conditioner from Pelican - Gummi Pflege Stift. I noticed a little squeek from the seals on my window. I will try to apply some in a few days and report back. I have non Porsche project currently taking over everything else.

Ah what the Heh - I needed a break. I put it on the external seal on the drivers window - squeek gone. I did not not see any streaking on the window. The window was already down, applied it on the inside and outside of the seal. Once the outside was dry, the window went up and down squeek free. I was suprised about the lack of streaking, the inside of the seal is covered in felt. Maybe the sponge applicator helped clean it off?
