If you remove the oil scavenger pump, (being careful to note the position it is installed & replace the same orientation or it will not pump) you may see debris there &/or in the pump. Cam chain will block your view but this puts you 3" from the bottom of the cam cover sump. You may need to replace the huge pump O-ring seal.
