Why does my shift knob have so much slack in it?

Even when it's fully engaged it has a lot of slack or play. Any way to take up that slack?

Cuz since you split sheets all you've been doing is working on your car?

wire tye or Tie-wrap the cables to so they do not flop around.

you want to feel something bad jump into a old pantera.

If I jerk my knob around too much, it starts to feel loose, also. Lube things up well to prevent further damage. ;)

I purposely added "shifter" to the thread title. ;)

I always wanted to drive one of those, I hear a rust free Pantera is as rare as Astatine

So side to side and cable related it's firm, but front to back it seems to have an inch or more to wobble freely. Can this slack be adjusted at the shifter?

I had a boxster once with a worn out bushing in the shifter. Maybe that? How loose is it?
