The muffler has nothing to do with deleting the cats. You can choose to use with or without. If you choose without then you need cat delete pipes.

Deleted to stop confusion

I would say yes, although those pipes look a little differently than the cat delete pipes I put in. 9The angles seem different) Mine looked like this:

Porsche 986 Boxster 2.7L & 3.2L Including Boxster S 2000-2004 50mm Bolt-on Cats Test Pipes - Top Speed Auto Accessories, Inc.

The picture is from a 987 system. I am going to go with the top speed pro system. Sucks that the Canadian dollar is in the ****************ter right now.

as stated, the system is for a 987. on the 987 there are no secondary cats. if you are looking for a 986 system, purchase the secondary cat delete pipes. pretty much all of the made in china mufflers will give you a better not to the exhaust, but the sound is so much better with the secondary cats deleted. personally I would recommend getting the cat delete pipes and installing them before a muffler swap and trying out the sound, then if you wanted to go for more note, add the muffler later if desired. as a bit of advice, do not just change the muffler, the drone is horrible without the delete pipes.

Thanks for the input!

Anybody know if this deletes the secondary cat?

I like the looks of that, anyone know how much weight it saves ?

Fintro11 05-29-2015 07:25 PM

Just ordered the top speed secondary cat delete.... going to save up for the top speed muffler

not exactly, but my guesstimate would be about 40% based upon the amount of effort needed for the install. my advice would be to get a new set of clamps / couplers before you change your muffler. I had to hammer the old ones off, and when reinstalled they did not seal too well. after 15 years or so, exhaust hardware can be a bit of a pain in your fourth point of contact to reuse.

It's super light relatively.

...the drone is also super annoying. I actually took mine off after 3 months. I'll eventually have a muffler shop weld in a balance pipe to see if the drone gets any better.

Most of the drone can be eliminated with the cat delete / 2" easy seal clamp / proper installAtion

I have a '99 so the secondary cats are effectively 'deleted'.

I wish I actually did have them to have an easy solution to the drone.

I went with the Borla muffler, heard it's pretty loud from other forum members. So I bought the top speed secondary cat delete and resonators to go were the top speed pipe has the second section. Also got the 2" Easy Seal clamps. Headers are on back order, so I'm just waiting on those to get here.
