Lets Play: "Name This Part!"

So on Saturday I was washing my Boxster and this part fell out from the passenger rear wheel well area. Its obviously a weather stripping of some sort but I have no idea how it made its way there. Does anyone know what this is?

it is the rubber from the wheel arch (mud flap)

I checked the other side and didn't see it there. I will check a little more in-depth tonight after work.

Very common that these break off. Pelican has them for $25.

It's part number 11 in the drawing.

I've replaced those. There's a stud or post that usually pokes through the part that mounts to the car and holds that trim on. That's not on the piece he is holding.

I also think those are closed on the ends.

The exact same thing happened to me a few years ago. I was lucky in that the one on the opposite side was still there. Now, you've got me thinking…. it's time to check them.

You're right, I was going off what rdass623 posted. The mud guard is smaller and is closed at the ends or solid rubber. Could that be a section of the door seal that broke off??

Engine compartment seal?

Clam shell seal?

Trunk seal?

When mine fell out years ago, it was from the rear wheel arch area. It looked like the one in the picture and had no little studs or posts coming off or through it. At the very rear section of the wheel arch, it goes between the upper and lower sections. Not very clear, I know...
