Battery Tender
I've used a battery tender before on a car without electronics. Is it OK to use on my 2003 Boxster?
|
Sure. C-tek is a good one.
|
got 2 boxsters and a C 4 hooked up to one. sure increases the battery life.

Battery Tender
Sounds good. Where and how have you guys been threading the cable?
|
I just sit it in the front seat floor and plug it in to the cigarette lighter.
|
Got a permanent pigtail hooked to the battery posts and barely sticking out from under the hood between the wipers. Cable from the battery tender is run across the ceiling and dropped down in the precise spot that I want the car parked and when I pull in I know just where to stop. when I exit the car I plug in the cable and it is good to go until I take it again. I have a 4 bank tender, one for each Porsche and one for the truck.

Battery Tender
Both very practical ideas. Thanks.

The technology for what used to be called trickle chargers and then float chargers has changed. The new device includes a sequence to de-sulfate the battery and automatically adjusts the rate of charge.
Here is one example that I use: BatteryMINDer Model 1510 BatteryMINDer 1510 | 12 Volt Maintenance Charger with 10 Year Warranty There are other models and other brands that do the same hi-tech battery care. |
