boxster roof riddle (disco dance)
 

when closing my roof, just 3" before it touches the windshield top, my roof does a little disco dance!
it stops and goes back 1", then forward 1", then back 1", etc etc etc while I am holding the top up button
same deal for the top down button
I rap on the button several times until I can get it going in the down direction, then change to up switch and it closes
I have tested the switch and it tests just fine

has anyone seen this?

I'm sorry, but it seems your car has come down with disco fever !

I don't have the answer for you, but check the rods that operate the top. They have the plastic cups on one end and bolt into a lever arm on the other end. The other end of the lever arm moves the clamshell cover. If it is not doing 'dancing' with the front of the soft top, I would really suspect those pushrods even more. I suspect they are out of adjustment or have some worn bushings. . See if you can get some one to operate the roof while you watch those linkages.
