Okay,so how dumb is this?
First nice dry day after way too much cold and snow. Got my car back together. I'll take it for a little run. Jockeying back and forth to get it out of the obstructed side of my garage, i drove it right into the brick wall!
So I said Oh heck and fudge and other similar things!

Sorry to see that. When I make those brilliant moves I say similar things. Looks like that bumper has to be changed out, no question about it. I wonder what after market parts are available to use???

That sucks I hate when crap like that happens. I know a really good Bodyshop in Laval if you decide to fix it.

Ouch! Sorry to hear about that. At least it's fairly minor. We all have mishaps, and I usually invent a language that would make a sailor's hair burst into flames when I do it.

Thanks, sympathy helps! I'm just so pissed at myself. The Bumper doesn't seem to be broken. It's just the paint. For now, I think I'm going to just respray the area, buff it out, and live with imperfection! I like this car but it's very far from concourse!

Haha, I like his thinking!
That sucks though.
This would fix that issue.

Well Newart, my suggestion would be to sit back, drink a brew and get over it, seriously. My guess is that most of the forum members here have done something similar if not worse regardless of what they fess up to. Lord knows I've done much worse due to my stupidity, F'ing Up and age do have their benefits though........
My suggestion, find you local German (Porsche, Audi, BMW, etc,) dealer and cordially / honestly explain your situation and ask who they use to handle such repairs. It will help if you give them a sob story about whatever reason you cannot afford to pay to have it repaired conventionally, through in a stupid money repair you just paid for prior that you didn't see coming.
If THAT doesn't work, if you are anything like me you'd **** a brick at how wonderful the results are with some elbow grease and following the directions from the Dr. ColorChip, Paintscratch.com or whoever you choose. Make sure to shoot 2 to 3 coats of clear over the color extending into the surrounding paint.................

I agree with your solution. I had my bumper professionally repaired and resprayed after an encounter with a woodchuck. Within a week after the repair I had a similar but slower encounter with a parking block. The woodchuck one was covered by insurance. The parking block just cracked the paint so I lived with it last year. I may attempt to do something like you are planning. Maybe not. No one seems to notice it but me anyway. I would most likely make it worse looking

Should have filmed it for the next Fix-Auto tv comercial
I caught the cement protection barrier of a telephone pole that wasn't visible from inside the car while turning to go past it. Did a job on the rear quarter panel luckily I was in the Rabbit. Many expletives were heard.

Looks like it has already been swapped once... That's a 996 bumper
If you've got a truck or other transportation, you can save $$ by pulling the bumper off yourself and taking it to the shop. This will also give you the opportunity to clean those radiators!

Aren't you the observant one?!
A PO must've had an unreported accident. The bumper, and I suspect the hood were changed and the headlights are clean as a whistle!
I 've had that bumper off to make the centre cutout that they had neglected to do. Rads were pretty clean.
