Need to get the cover back on. Cannot get it to seat. What am I missing??

As close as I can get it. Need a plan to get it on solid before I make a gasket.

Is it possible you have the tapered roller bearing on up side down?

I did not dismantle any gears. Just the bearing that is retained by the gear that bolts to the case. I didn't check that one for taper. Thanks.
