rumor below is Boxster GT4 minus the GT4 parts. But 3.8 is a go. had to be a hitch I guess.

From Porsche's perspective it makes sense to just put the GT4 engine in the Spyder w/o the suspension - Porsche doesn't want the GT4 stealing sales / thunder from the 911 so they hold the HP below 400 and they don't want the Spyder stealing sales / thunder from the GT4 so they hold out some of the go-fast parts and give it 10 less HP.

I hope that hump is just cammo - it looks a bit hideous IMHO.

EDIT: I see tape on the hump, so that center piece is probably hiding twin humps.

Would be avoided by simply offering a Boxster GT4 as well as a Cayman GT4 since they are merely variants of the same car. Porsche are funny...
