Another Window Drop Oddity

As we've seen before, when the window has issues dropping to clear the roof it's often too much slack in the regulator's cable.

I replaced the regulator with a nice used example last month, worked right. Then about a week ago it started to act up and hang up on the edge of the seal.

Basically, I'm wondering if this regulator is also crapping out in terms of cable tension, or if it's possibly another culprit entirely. I plan on removing the door panel this weekend to take a look (also to replace broken clips from last time). Is there a chance it could be in the door handle sensor? I guess I'll find out Friday if it is the sensor, the cable, or just the glass somehow getting repositioned in the rubber clamps.

Does the window drop when you lift the handles (inside or outside handles)? Many threads on window issues if you search.

before pulling door panel apart, test drop with top down using the little red clip (simulates top up). This will quickly/easily eliminate any physical hang up due to top guides, etc. From there, see if behavior is same regardless of handle (inside or out). If same, doubtful issue is either handle. Somewhere in the DIY section is a step by step diagnostic guide... do multi-word search and you should be able to find.

Good luck :)

I found it's not consistently hanging up on the roof. This morning I tested it a few times when I got to the office and the hang is intermittent. Wonder if it's in the replacement motor... hmm. I need to remove the door panel regardless, since the lack of a few clips is causing it to rattle when the radio is up. :o
