The shut lines on the leading (A pillar) door edges look out of wack. Must have been a doozy of a ‘minor’ accident. Who lets an interior go like that, you’d have to work at it to get it to the condition in the pics.

I just read the Autocheck report kindly offered by the seller. 2011-2012 were not happy years for this car.

Yeah, "just a 2 mph parking lot bump. "

My reaction too. I've seen cars with 250,000 miles that don't look like that.

husker boxster 12-28-2018 03:01 PM

If the odometer hasn't been rolled back, it's only been driven 100 mi since 2012. I find that hard to believe.

As far as the interior being so sad, it's probably been sitting for a long time (maybe 6 yrs?) with the windows partially down since they don't have the time to "re-sync the convertible top motor".

Not a poet, doesn't know it

Saw this today in Chicago area Craigslist:

Low 53,000 miles Only!!!
Clean in & out
Clean title
Clean runner
6 cylinder
RWD
Strong steady smooth ride- strong stops
Automatic top
Automatic or manual transmission-
Tiptronic
The sporty look you'll love, combined with that super powerful engine- not under the hood, nor in trunk area, BUT at the Center!
It hugs the road, and it seats you well, even during sharp and fast turns
It's the Porsche beauty and engineering
You are not paying for the car
You are in fact paying for the pleasure derivable from driving it
The pleasure far exceeds the amount you put into acquiring it
Your money is only an instrument by which such delight is experienced
Money has no intrinsic value
It is rather the proper use of it that brings about what's valuable
IF- you can't, or, don't or won't see it through this lens, please bother not to call nor text
It will have been a waste of your time, not mine
Add to that the fact that neither of us truly has the capacity to throw away what, in the first instance, we really cannot hold!
Needless to say, this Porsche is NOT perfect
It's 17, going 18
Sweet I'd say
It has seen the ravages of that small time frame
Yet, it retains its character to make one enjoy what it was made for
If it's worth your interest to consider it for a purchase, then call or text me please
And, if you do, I would assume you are the person who values his/her time, such that even if no deal is consummated, I would have gained another friend today
Thanks for taking time to read
Rest in the thought that I value you more than your money!
Even if I know you not
Not yet
But it's in not knowing you where from arises and originates the innate worth of our humanity
And when such knowledge comes, it blossoms into a relationship that produces the by-product of the exchange of goods/services, i.e.,Porsche
My gratitude to Craigslist for aiding in this, my announcement

Or at least an extra roll of toilet paper!

911 S sold at Mecum on Sun - defn 1 of 1

30K mi w/ GT3 front and wing. Sold for almost $40K, which is a little low for the miles and options.

Why was this one special? Someone went to the expense (allegedly $65K) to convert it to a central driving position, ala the McLaren F1 road car.

My question is WHY?

Definitely NOT a kit car, looks a lot like a real car.

Here's a sad story available today on Chicago CL:

"Comes with a 2 L Boxster 200 HP motor with a 4-speed transmission.

Pictures do not do this car Justice. It has won best of show or Best in Class at every car show I have brought it to. Absolutely no tire kickers welcome!

You want to beat on this car stay home don't need you cutting down the car either to try to get a better price, the paint was 10 grand by itself."

I can't tell if he means it comes with a "2 L Boxster 200 HP motor" in *addition* to the motor pictured. Does this look like a Boxster motor to anyone?

I just thought I'd start the thread and see where it goes. I'm intending for it to stay Porsche related, but I'm nobody's boss.
It also may do best to clip a screenshot rather than post a link, due to the transient nature of the posts.

Here's what amused me tonight, a "Porshe Boxer" headlight and a Porsche 917 ('73 VW):

This is an awesome thread! That kit car is hilariously painful to look at.

Yep thats a rare 4 cylinder Boxster engine. You can tell by the 4 leads on the distributor and the twin down draft carburetors. Hopefully they are Webers and not Solex cause that would be a dead giveaway that it is not a high performance normally aspirated 4 cylinder Boxster engine and just a cheap knock off. With the length of that hood you could fit 2 of those engines in there.

PS, I wonder if the woman with the 2 basketballs in her top comes with the car? Built in passenger airbag(s).

The front REALLY protrudes out.

I think he meant 2L boxer engine, he just wasn't smart enough to state it as that.

rexcramer 01-10-2019 05:42 PM

If the motor is in the back, why does the front stick out so far? That hood looks like it is over 7'.

Was he talking about the car??

maytag 01-10-2019 09:12 PM

I can't tell if y'all are being sarcastically-obtuse, or if you really don't know what the seller meant?

He's talking about a 2L Boxer motor. Which, to everyone else, is a jugged, air-cooled VW motor. But he doesn't want to say it in a way that makes people think "this is another kit car on a VW pan..." (which it is, of course)

That paint job was $10k? He got ripped-off.
Seriously..... ugliest car I've seen in quite some time. His comment about it winning "best of show" in "every show it went to" is probably another purposely misleading statement..... i.d like to ask how many he went to..... hahaha

They called it a component car 🙄

"Best in show" at the ugly car show

I see it comes w/ plenty of free swirls as opposed to swirl free paint.

Wow - not only did he get the trophy he also got the girl...

The sticker  Good thing he featured prominently in ad; will help eliminate a fair number of buy candidates whose 'better half" will be well short of enthusiastic while looking at this fine specimen.

Other than that it should sell quickly - GLWS :)

BoxMann 02-03-2019 08:51 AM

Here's the Deal of the Century: a 2003 S, asking $29,500

The mileage is super low, perhaps too low, but $29,500?? Plus, it's in Hawaii, which means another $2,000+ to ship it to the mainland.

If he doesn't lower his price, he's going to be waiting until the year 29,500 before he sells that.
