Boxster S 986 facelift soft top with glass window

Hi,

does anyone have experience installing soft top (glass window) of a facelift (986) to 986 2001? I want to buy just canvas roof with window and keep the original mechanism.

Thanks so much for your advice!

It's not possible to use the 2003-2004 canvas on a 1997-2002 roof frame, as the later roof has an extra bow in the rear to correctly accommodate the (larger compared to aftermarket) window glass.

My new roof with glass for my 98 will be here tomorrow. You can buy new tops for the older generation with a glass window. I bough mine at Autotops direct. I am not sure if they will ship internationally since I see you are in Hungary.

As they above you need the frame and roof. I did mine last year with a roof of a 2004 model, mines 2002. It took 2 of us about 3hrs and is relatively straight forward. Roof cost £425 and couple of beers for my friend, happy days
