Ughhhh wrong MAF part

Ordered a MAF part for the car, based on chassis number it appeared the 2000 boxster s needed the .124 part. Pulled the old sensor and it was a 125.01. So I can't update the computer either. Fingers crossed that pelican has a good return policy.

Did you even try it?

This has as lot of info on the maf sensor. Maybe you can figure out something from this.

I did not try it, but it is older than the current part in the car, and to my knowledge the software cannot be back dated.

********************************************.com says that part number is used in years 2000 and up. I'm not sure what the numbers I put in bold means, but both part numbers were used on a 3.2l motor 2000 and up.

according to pelican the part I ordered was used in the very first e gas 2000 cars, to quickly be replaced by the other part. The issue is the part I pulled from the car happened to be the newer part, rather than the early e gas part.

My car has the 125.01 sensor too. Not sure how Pelican is with exchanges, but they do charge a 15% restock fee on returned items.

BTW: Pelican has the wrong maf sensor listed for the 2004 special edition cars. It should be 98760612500, not 98660612501.

Will be calling them tomorrow to see what I can do, the other sensor is about $40 cheaper so price shouldn't be too far off in the end anyway. In the case they cannot return I guess I will just need to sell the new MAF I bought online.
