Sleep mode

Hi everyone. It's been discussed a few times that if you don't use your Boxster for around 5 days then the remote receiver switches itself off and you need to unlock the car with the key.
Does anyone know if unlocking and locking the car, without opening the door etc, is enough to stop it going to sleep?

Or do you need to enter the car and switch the ignition on?

Reason for my question is my door lock is knackered and my remote key works from my bedroom. It would save me having to run down to the car twice weekly when I am not using it over the winter. I would test my theory myself but if I get locked out I've got a lot of trouble and noise to get back into it lol

Anyone had similar experiences?

I am sure someone here will have an answer for you, but why not get the door lock fixed? What is wrong with it?
